The Regency

At the beginning of the 2005 fall semester, the former Regency Hotel opened it's doors to Auraria Campus students as a student housing community. I like to refer to them as dorms.

The first dorms ever for the three colleges on the campus (Metropolitan State College of Denver, University of Colorado at Denver and Community College of Denver), The Regency is located right off I-25 near the Park Avenue West/38th exit. You can't miss it. It looks like this:

The Regency Tower

I moved into the Regency on January 7. I live on the 12th floor and, since I was too cheap to shell out an extra five bucks in rent a month for an awsome view of downtown Denver and Invesco Field, I have a great view of Commerce City, a train yard and our very own brown cloud. All joking aside, it's still a million dollar view and I'll enjoy it for as long as I'm here. I've signed a year lease, and during that year, I'll use this blog to talk about the Regency experience.

Also, since this is for a journalism class, you'll notice articles and exercises unrelated to The Regency from time to time. Please bear with me.
